Thank you for the new thread, elsiepac! Please can you put me down for £420 this month? That's to cover all everyday groceries & basic toiletries for 4 or 5 adults (DS3 home for the first week) plus weekend guests, 3 cats, 2 cockatiels & 12 assorted chickens.

BUT it will not cover a re-stocking of the stores pre-Brexit, just in case of mayhem in the supply chains. It may be completely unnecessary, but I'll feel better with it there & it'll all get eaten eventually.

In other news, DS3 (27!) has evidently had a lightbulb moment; he's eaten virtually everything put in front of him this holiday & seems to have discovered soup big-time. It's taken a while but evidently living on an academic stipend has broadened his horizons from a diet of pizza & Har1bo to something approaching normal!

Hi all, could you put me down for £380 please - family of 5, all food, drinks toiletries & household. Trying to reduce the spends slightly from last year, we are using Tesc* now with shopping delivered so it's easier to keep track of the spends!

I'm going to take £100 out of the bank and use this in January. Theres far too much food in this house and I keep buying more.

I intend to use the £100 to buy milk and fresh bread with occasional bread.

I will be inventive with what we already have in.

Daughter says she is doing veganuary but if she wants foods for this then she will have to fund it herself.

Hi, I was in this challenge last year but I fell to the wayside due to my mental health. Looking forward to getting started again. My month runs from today until the 20th of January, this includes cleaning products, toiletries, alcohol, eating out and my ww membership. Budget for Jan is 300 which is plenty. Rather set it high for now and see if I can make some significant savings. Need to do some stockpiling though, washing powder, kitchen roll and toilet roll.

Hello, I used to do this challenge a little while ago and would really like to rejoin it please. I would like to put down £450 for January which is quite a drop for us but I do have lots of food available in 2 freezers and an extensive food cupboard. I do have a tendency to hoard food so will be working on that too.

My household is 5 adults, 2 dogs and a cat and the challenge will be including all food, cleaning supplies, pet food and any eating out. We have just had a large drop in income so this challenge is a necessary thing for us. I look forward to hearing how everyone gets on this month.
  • Hi

I would like to try the challenge again please 😀 could you put me down for £150. My month runs until 25th.

Let’s see how I do, but something has to change! I’m determined to kick off the roaring 20’s with positivity!

    Thanks
