Refund on non refundable hotel due to incorrect details

            Which property is this?
Many of the lower priced 2*/3* aparthotel complexes in the Canaries do make a charge for these extras.
If you booked a cheaper non-refundable rate then you may struggle to get a change of accommodation based on the safe, kettle, tv issue.
You could of course change hotels but would have to pay again.0 -

Not all 'All-inclusive' hotels are 'full all inclusive'.Ok just to be clear it isn’t just about the kettle and tv.
There seems to have been some sort of change in management company for the complex what I have read which is what has caused the comments from reviewers. Apart from the tv and kettle cost there are issues with security, all inclusive not being full all inclusive I.e. restrictions on times, drinks and certain food options.
Just trying to see if there is a way to swap hotels without losing all the original cost. Would rather pay a penalty to swap than end up fighting for claims on my return due to not getting what is listing .
Some cheaper AI hotels do indeed have restrictions on food & drink times as well as what alcohol they serve. It may include 'local' spirits e.g. white rum but premium brands e.g. Bacardi may be chargeable. Or not even available.
However, this should have been clear in the hotel description at the time of booking.
Was it clear but you just didn't read it at the time and are now realising that the (maybe) cheap AI deal you booked isn't the good deal you thought it was and want to get out of the booking?
I can't imagine any decent AI hotel charging for a TV.
I've stayed in 1* self catering accommodation that didn't charge for the TV.
Perhaps you could say which hotel it is.0 -
Is the AI option clear on the website0

... all inclusive not being full all inclusive I.e. restrictions on times, drinks and certain food options.
When I was looking at AI I was surprised to discover all of the above at several places I was interested in. It would seem to be more the norm than an exception, so I doubt you will get anywhere by trying to use this as a basis for refund or move to another hotel.0 -
Was there a reason you didn't do any research about the hotel before you booked it?
Plenty of hotels in the Canaries, not just AI hotels don't provide kettles or any tea/coffee making facilities other than to rent, (some not at all) and paying a deposit for the remote control for the TV isn't unusual either.
The info on an agents website is usually provided by the property. If it didn't explicitly say that there are kettles in the rooms and TV remotes are free then you've assumed that they are included. AI usually only refers to local drinks and meals and those quite often have time restrictions on them.
Which hotel is it?0 -
Seems a bit of a stretch to claim it is completely not as described. Take a travel kettle and some teabags/ coffee sachets if you want to have a hot drink in your room.
I’ve only stayed in one AI resort (5*) and even in that the buffet hours were limited and most drinks were “local” versions with branded spirits at a premium.0 -

Buy a little travel kettle for a tenner or so and an adaptor.
And some cups....

The hotel we go to in Tenerife nearly every November has various differences in what they offer. For example, only the superior rooms have a kettle provided, otherwise you can hire one. The AI finishes at 11pm which is an hour earlier than our hotel in Ibiza. I don’t think European AI hotels tend to be on a 24 hour basis as they are in the Caribbean, Mexico etc.0

Despite requests to name the hotel, the OP has not done so. They have also gone quiet. I wonder if a second visit to the OTB website the OP actually saw that the information was given about the charges and inclusions but that they missed reading it originally.0
