Putting copyright on a dvd

Can this be done?

I am copying a dvd of my wedding for a family member, it's just a normal dvd and I would use nero to make the duplicate, I would prefer it if I could place a copyright or some form of security to stop the dvd being copied again.

can this be done, and is it easy enough.

Cheers

    Not possible with Nero.

Who apart from family would want to copy it anyway ?

probably not with nero... i've used things like dvd studio pro on a mac, and with this you can add on macrovision, but i don't think so within nero.
  • is there any freeware programmes that would do this, I don't have a mac

Why do you want / need to copy protect it ?

Most copy protection can be circumnavigated anyway, see how many film dvds are pirated around the world.

    Think about it.
If there was a way to copy protect a DVD, wouldn't all the movie companies use it to try to prevent piracy?

Why are you so desperate to know why i want it protecting.

I don't fancy being put on youtube by a mischevous relative.

I was just wondering why it needed to be copy-protected, it is only family that will have copies.

If someone is sad enough to put it on YouTube then give them a good slap !

And report it to youtube to get it removed. They're getting much more serious nowadays since being taken over by google about copyright infringement.

But as everyone says, not matter what you do to it, if they're determined they WILL copy it.
