I haven't updated in a while.. things are going okay but I just cannot get the food shopping down and I think this is just something I am going to realistically budget for, we are spending £70-100 a week.
My main focus this month/Feb is to not go into a shop if I dont have to. I've spent a bit too much on basically nothing this month. I LOVE decorating and interior design but I'm stuck between trying to make my house as pretty as I want without spending too much on it because ultimately once weve got the new car my attention will be turned to saving for a house which I desperately want.
So currently I still have the £200 on the CC left. I have £1000 in savings, so I think I'll move £200 over and then I'm back to being debt free. I also paid £250 off of the holiday so I've got two more payments of £250 due and then that's paid for.
I have money also left over for food and petrol for this and next week then I'll be going into February with savings for the first time in shes. Very proud of myself.0 -
So since my last post weve had a crap month or so which has been slightly better these last few weeks.
Positives- holiday (that we might not end up going on now haha!) Is paid for in full.
I have a new car! I hope I dont need to worry about any expense on this for a while as it's got a year warranty and breakdown, MOT and I've just had it full serviced.
Negatives- I am back in debt. Wahhh. BUT I am so positive to change this. Our reckless spending has massively reduced and I'd say we are doing so well there!
Debt-£3,000 loan (over 3 years) but currently over paying £150 PM so it's gone in 2 years.
Credit Cards- £1000 balance on one and £200 balance on another. I've neglected this recently because I paid an extra £800 of my wages to go towards the car. So hey ho, pay day on Friday! Lets see how this goes.
On a non money side of things we are day 3 of isolation as my eldest developed temps of 38.2 all day and had a sore throat this cleared up in one day but still we have to protect the more vulnerable! After this I hope to be back at work (frontline NHS) and help my colleagues. My husband is still at home so he can look after the girls and hes actually getting better. Hes getting up himself and doing more things , being less irritable. Things are really looking up. We have also had another expense at £40 per week, he has restarted counselling and shes a CBT trained counsellor and hes getting on well so worth the money. Fingers crossed he can get back onto work soon.

Money well spent then
