Help Needed - Company not paying up.

Hello,

I have recently sold my phone to a company in which you post your phone off they evaluate it and pay you cash.

I first received an email that they had received my device. 27/11... the quote 24hr turnaround... Then nothing

I emailed them, and received an email to say they sent my an email last week to revise the quote and it quoted “ Please advise in the next 5 working days. If we do not hear from you, we will take this as your acceptance and will credit the amount quoted to your nominated account.” 16/12/19

Despite being over two weeks since this email had apparently been sent, I had still not received any payment.

I clarified with them and accepted the revised quote regardless. They quoted that they usually give an extended period to accept for the these quotes... before proceeding.

Final quote from the company on 16/12/19; Thank you for replying. I will have this authorised now and payment made within 24hrs.
Thank you for choosing to recycle your device with Handtec.

I have received no payment and I have sent multiple further emails to no avail.

What do I do?

Send them a letter before claim detailing what resolution would be acceptable. This would typically be return the phone or pay the agreed price. Give them two weeks to comply.

If they don't come up with an acceptable resolution then issue a court claim. You can do this online assuming they have a UK address
