Cheque deposit limit

I have a £2000 gift is the form of a cheque. The Halifax banking app has a limit of £500 per cheque. Would the branch self service machine or counter allow me to deposit this? Cant seem to find limits for in branch cheques

If the Halifax branch is a bit far, I think that you'll probably be able to deposit it at your local Post Office (with debit card or with personalised paying in slip from Halifax).0
