Byron BY101 door chime problem

Well i gave it a rub down with vinegar as instructed.
Put some energizer batteries in - no go. Just refuses to work.
Strangely, the mains powered chime also wasn't working, yet when i tested it the other day the first press didn't work but presses after that did work. This was located at the rear of the house.
I removed the external door press and if i just moved sideways a step so it was in front of the door, the mains powered one would chime, so i guess it's just the doorframe being 1 obstacle too much (it already has to go through a couple walls).
I've moved the mains powered door chime to the living room, so it's closer to the external door press, and it actually works so it's better than nothing. I just don't know why it's suddenly stopped working where it was, unless the battery powered chime was acting as like some sort of transmitter also. No idea.
Only thing is it's loud as anything and the wife isn't keen, but then really at least we'll know if someone is at the door and it's not like we have kids pranking the doors or anything so it's not the end of the world.
So we're just down to the 1 chime now then.0 -
You might need to gently scrape some of the rust on the spring.
Is there a re-pairing button on the battery powered chime?
When did you last change the battery in the push button? The reduced range might be due to a low battery. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

Possibly. I'll likely end up breaking the spring i'm sure. You might need to gently scrape some off the rust on the spring.
I had a look and apparently you just press the external button and it's then paired. Is there a re-pairing button on the battery powered chime?
Thought of that one - tried a brand spanker in there, same problem i'm afraid. Thanks though. When did you last change the battery in the push button? The reduced range might be due to a low battery.0
