When is a CISAS defence not a defence?

I’m currently in dispute with Virgin Mobile and my complaint is with CISAS.
I received this message (italics) today and am confused.
24-12-2019 12:25:00 PM (name removed) has completed Respond - Event: The company has submitted a defence to the customer’s claim. The customer may now either submit comments on the defence if they wish to or simply elect to move onto the next step in the process, the appointment to an adjudicator. When submitting it’s defence the company added the following comment: "No Defence".
Does this mean they have submitted a defence or not, given the comment ‘no defence’ has been added by Virgin? A document titled ‘blank.docx’ was also added by Virgin, but as its name suggests, its blank? I have until the 3rd January to respond.
Thanks!

They have submitted their defence. However their defence is that they are not defending, thus the comment and the blank document. Personally I would now justr move to the adjudicator stage as you have nothing to comment on.0 -
Thanks for the response! I suspected as much, so have moved to the next stage and they have appointed an adjudicator.0
