Refit screw+rawlplug from loose curtain fitting

Hi,
Curtain pole is held at 3 points by brackets which are screwed into the wall.
Each screw has a rawlplug.
Several have come loose such that the bracket has come off the wall.
The holes left behind are a little wider than the rawlplug so basically there is no grip.
Would like advice on solution.
Back in the day we would polyfilla then drill new holes but there must be an easier solution?

if you're the slightest bit handy you can make the existing holes slightly larger and deeper and use a bigger Rawlplug and screw. The holes may have been drilled and hit a lintel if there is one.0

Matchsticks or gripfill.0

Cut another rawlplug in half lengthwise and tap it in beside the original one in the hole. Adjust second rawlplug to the size you need (i.e. add more or less of the second one depending on how much gap you need to fill).0

Some of the bodges suggested will fail again (matches/split wall plugs rammed in the hole) fairly quickly (if they work at all).
You can get stuff like Milliput (epoxy putty) or other stuff (gripfill mastic) to fill the hole, but that also needs to be left to fully set before a new fixing can be drilled and fitted.
In my time I've bodged a wallplug back in place with hot melt glue with fair success. That's fairly quick if a bit ugly. :eek:0 -
Squirt Gorilla Glue in the hole and push the old plugs back in. Allow it to set and screw the rail back up. I've recently used Gorilla Glue on patio slabs and on wall coping stones. They are still solid so I have no reason to doubt it would hold a curtain rail.0

I was going to say that, although with a different quick setting glue of choice!0 -
Would plumbers gold do? Totally tube of that around. Or could buy gripfil0

It’s failed once, so there’s something wrong. Possibly the screws are too short, so it’s being held only or mostly by the plaster.
Is this being drilled into block work?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Grip and fix patches, get them from Wickes. It’s basically scrim and plaster of Paris, you wrap them around the wall plug, reinsert and wait for it to set.0

This is it.
There's something wrong. Curtain pole fixings seem to need to be stronger than you might think. The right fixing depends on what the wall is made of. The screws and plugs need to be the right size and type for the job.
I think I've fixed bodged up fixings in every house we've had.0
