Washing machine broke - two days before xmas!

Water pouring out the bottom of the drum. Fault codes - because I think electric bits got wet.

Been advised not worth replacing the drum. I see drums are £150 part only. :-(

Guess I might have electrical problems now too due to the water.

Only had it 4-5 years. Not happy. Replacement best option?

I wouldn't want to spend £150+ on a 5 year old washing machine. AO do next day delivery 7 days a week. If you are desperate you might be able to get one delivered tomorrow. Not very money saving though. Alternatively a local second hand shop might have something suitable.

Managed to get a nice new one. Good reviews. etc £459 delivered tomorrow. And its got 3 year warranty

Yeh like you said its £150 for the part PLUS fitting. Then assume the electrics are ok.

Sounds like you have ordered a new machine without first finding out where the leak is actually coming from!

Not likely to be the drum, more likely the door seal or hose to pump.

Definitely the drum. Can see the water coming out.

I remember fixing a leaking drum with Isopon and steel plate. It cost about £1.50 in materials and lasted years.

Not saying that your washing machine could have been fixed like this as my machine was quite an old one. Since yours was fairly new, the fault might have been more than a simple leak in the drum.
