Text from friend has come through in bank’s thread

Just had a weird issue on OH’s phone. She has been texting her brother about Christmas arrangements and she just got his latest reply, but instead of appearing in the thread showing his name it has come through in the thread for Nationwide Building Society instead. Looking it up on Google only comes up with scams of this nature, but this is not a scam as her brother would not do this and wouldn’t know how to (or have the time to arrange it). Is this something that can randomly happen?

This used to happen to me with an app from Three. Sometimes it's the app messing up with the from number/name rather than the text message itself.

Restart the phone and see if it appears in the correct place.

Yes, she did that and it all sorted itself out. Apparently before she did that she also got a text from a bank which went into the thread with my texts in it , so the phone was getting itself in a fankle somehow, which the restart has resolved.
