Hive Live subscription - is it worth it?

I've had Hive for almost two years now and thankfully no problems in that time. I'm still paying the £2.99 a month subscription for Hive Live which covers the warranty for the system but the other benefits (10% off future products, free delivery, SMS notifications etc) don't excite me too much.

Has anyone run into problems with their Hive and found the Hive Live subscription was useful as acting as a warranty. Without it I'm guessing if there was a fault the responsibility of repair or replacement would fall on me? Just wondering if £36 a year is a price worth paying for that possible eventuality.

Not sure if there would be any warranty after 12 months anyway, would there?

I’ve had Hive for well over 2 years and never experienced a problem. Hive frequently have special offers so the 10% off doesn’t seem much of a bargain. Personally, I would not take out a subscription. I installed the system myself (saving money) - it was very simple as the Hive receiver was plug compatible with my existing controller.

Can the 10% discount be used on the Black Friday sale items?

I've had Hive thermostat since it first came out as British Gas from 2012/13. Never had any issues.
