I wrote to BP who then wrote to the service station. I discussed with the area manager who said the she would get VCS to drop the case.
Get that in writing as evidence to use later on.

    Hi.
The issue date was the 19th of February 2020. Does that make a difference?

    Hi.

It makes a difference  to when your Defence filing deadline is.

With a Claim Issue Date of 19th February, you have until Monday 9th March to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.

Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 23rd March 2020 to file your Defence.
That's nearly three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.

To file both an AoS and a Defence, follow the guidance in this post:

Guidance on creating a Defence is also in that thread.

Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

It must make a difference OP, because the form *tells you* it makes a difference, because it tells you a deadline yo umsut adhere to. That deadline is based on the service date which is based on the issue date.
