Tv or aeriel problem

Could anyone advise me please - I have an old analogue tv and a freeview box . Since the bad weather the other night I can still play prerecorded tv programmes through the freeview box but cannot get any live tv. It says ‘no video/audio’. I have tried turning it off and on , checked all cables are connected properly, and have returned the freeview box - which didn’t pick up any channels .
Is this sounding like a problem with the aeriel or do I need a new tv ?

Doesn't sound like the TV since you can still watch things on it.


Is the aerial still pointing in the right direction?

The aerial looks the same and I can’t see any obvious problems with it . I have wondered whether the cable has got water in it somehow as when it rained heavily previously the picture was pixelated

Do you have any other Freeview box or digital TV you can use to check the signal from the aerial? IF you could and then there was still no signal it would either be the aerial or cable that is at fault.

I think that you've probably answered your own question. If the signal was weak when it rained, then it's quite likely that there is water getting into the aerial/cable.
