That's what they are being paid to do, but replacing the paintwork (with the same colour) is not a justifiable reason for charging you money. They have to be able to justify the charge and show how it has adversely affected the vehicle's value - and, clearly, they think they can. If you truly disagree with them, you will have to dispute it and talk to the BVRLA if necessary.

If any one is intrested, i went to the BVRLA and they have decided to refund the paint charges intially applied ...
if anyone is in the same position ALWAYS DISPUTE THE CHARGES !!!

Well done Wrestling. I currently do pre inspections for return lease vehicles and advise people what they are likely to be charged.. and you did well. ALWAYS DISPUTE!!! :-)

Just another way to rip the poor saps off.....as if they havent done enough by the end of the term.
