Hi there,
I was looking to understand my options, if any, around a default from Cabot.
My credit file does not show the original default with virgin money credit card
I believe the original default was mid 2018.
When the debt was transferred/sold to cabot they registered a new default in Feb 2019.
I reached a 50% settlement in March 2019.
Credit file shows partial settlement March 2019.
Mortgage lenders are more open if the original default is over 1 year.
My file doesn't reflect the accurate date of first default.
Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for the info. Agree that makes sense.
However,
My impression from talking to mortgage broker was the original criteria to apply, at least, was related to the date of default being over a certain period of time ago.0 -

In the grand scheme of things, a few months is neither here, nor there, you can, if you wish, submit a subject access request to virgin money, that will get you the original default date.
Then compare that to Cabot's entry, if it’s different, then write and complain, escalate to the ICO if not satisfied.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
