I recently sold an my girlfriend's old but apparently still serviceable Nokia 6310i mobile.
The new owner has a unusual problem with it and I am hoping someone may be able to advise.
When called the phone rings once and stops. Calls can still be accepted it is just the ringer that goes silent.
Once a well like phone and still has quite a few fans. Hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this strange problem.

I could just say at this point that sold as seen, the ringer issue on the phone isn't your problem.
But since this is a generation of a phone that allows one to customise it by changing the chassis, IIRC most Nokias of this generation allow one to remove the plastic keypad too once you get the front bezel off. It's plausible (but probably unlikely) that when it rings the vibration from the speakers is cancelling the ring because it thinks a button has been pressed and obviously in silent mode this doesn't apply and so the phone keeps ringing. You can clean the contacts under the keypad with a cotton bud, it won't hurt anything to try.0 -
Thank you for the replies - that profile setting to ring once will be it for sure.
I refunded half the price paid for the phone - will have to ask for that back now:-)PLEASE DO NOT STEAL
