Best/fastest/cheapest to send a small parcel 2.5kg

I need to send off my drone to the new owner, total box weighs just under 2.5Kg and its about the size of 2 shoe boxes stacked on top of one another.

My local post office (in a tiny village) just said it would be £17.80, not collected until Monday and no guarantee of it arriving before Christmas

Who would you recommend to get it there asap please? Never posted a parcel off before

Out of interest what service are they quoting for £17.80? it doesn't fit any of the postage costs on the RM site- also what is the value of the parcel as that makes a difference.

You might want to check out DPD and UPS

Could be Parcelforce rather than RM.

    I'd recommend UPS via upstoday.com
More or less guaranteed next day delivery and should cost you £6 plus VAT if you drop it at a collection point (best to do it before noon).
There are others who'll be cheaper but they tend to be the most reliable for the price, in my experience.
