Is my bolier quote fair?

Options
Hi - Seasonal curse hits knocking out our boiler. No real time/availability of gas engineers to get multiple quotes to compare, so thought you guys might be able to help? So, does circa £3300 sound about right for installing a 30kw Ideal 'system' boiler with 10 year guarantee? Associated work included around installing a central heating filter, new flue with extension, replacing a seperate broken pump/removing an old aerator and converting the system from gravity to sealed? Suggested as 2 days for 2 heating engineers and half a day for an electrician. The quote includes the boiler itself, a new thermostat, five new TRVs, the seperate new pump, flue kit and pipe & electrical cables. What do you think?

Where are you located in the country, plays a big part in the price.

The amount of labour is spot on, but the total cost looks high. However, if you are asking the company to install the boiler at short notice, you will have to pay a premium, especially so close to Christmas.

I recently paid £2650 for a Intergas 24kW Open Vent boiler which included a powerflush of the existing system - something you didn't mention, but that would be necessary to get the warranty.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

We went from gravity fed to sealed system with a new W Bosch Greenstar 30i combi bolier, all old stuff removed (Boiler fitted in same location, kitchen) Took one guy 2 days to do, we got it through EonEnergy for £2700(ish) spread over 3 years interest free credit (I realise the interest is already added to the price)

British Gas were quoting double that
  • Ideal logics are crap, price doesn't sound excessive although I'd ask for a better boiler
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
