Curve card now has free international money xfer

"curve Send is here to take the fuss (and the fees!) out of sending and receiving money. Once. And. For. All.

You can now send money from any of your cards, to anyone in your contacts, with just a few taps on the app. Whether they have Curve or not. Whether they're in London or Lisbon – Curve Send lets you send money"

  • Is it free anywhere in the world or just EU countries?
Why do I ask - because Lloyds bank now offers free payments to SEPA countries and do not charge for inward payments. This information came with my last bank statement.
  • This can only be good news.
  • They do need to have curve as well though. And since non of my contacts have curve. Meh, not great for me.

What are the exchange rates, how do these measure up against Starling, Transferwise etc? For both, Curve and Lloyds. Who does the actual exchange for Curve - they themselves, or the card that they debit?

They definitely do not offer free payments.

Granted, they don't add a £ charge on each payment anymore, but they load the exchange rate.

Google Curve foreign payments or whatever - seems to imply they use the interbank rate for conversion.
