Who on earth wants -60 stuff?
For the simple reason that it can be diluted down a fair bit making even much better value for money.

It was basically for the European market, maybe why it's no longer sold here.

You can dilute it to suit, -60 deg is undiluted. Temperature can get to around -20 deg in the UK.

Most screen-wash only goes down to -5 deg unless a winter type.

    Winter grade?
  • Is there something special about this Lidl screenwash that makes it better than any other screenwash out there?

For the record i use this stuff https://www.vauxhall-accessories.com/vauxhall-screenwash although i buy the 5ltr stuff.

    Smells super strong.

    Cheapest? No
    Best? Who knows, probably not.
Stops the washer jets getting frozen? Seems to.
    Does the job? Sure.

Tesco sell prestone at £3.50 for 2 litres- the picture shows concentrate, I've no idea what they actually have, but I'll look tomorrow if I remember. It half the price of ECP, unless they have a 50% discount code that applies to everything as usual...
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

Yes. It does not freeze. I have mine set to -20 for winter, any weaker it will freeze going up in the mountain areas. I would have to use the Prestone stuff neat, probably cost more than fuel ! The Lidl stuff was £6 for 5 litres at -60 neat, worked out very economical. Also used it as de-icer in a trigger bottle. Suitable for all types of washer even the fussy VW ones that clog up with any excuse.

Eurocarparts and carparts4less have -35 screenwash 5l on offer for around £2.50 every couple of months with free delivery. I dont need it anywhere near that strong so usually stock up on the concentrated all seasons when that's on offer around £1.60-1.80 and put it in neat. Not sure how they make money on it, usually sent by courier.
