What constitutes a large vehicle in the road sign "Unsuitable for Large vehicles"?
I assume its just advisory, as its non-specific. There is a similar sign which specifies HGVs.

Read it as "Don't blame us if you get stuck or hit something - you were warned".
If you're uncertain if it applies to you, park and walk.0 -
Large vehicle doesn't appear to be defined anywhere.
I would say definitely artics and possibly coaches. 7.5 tonne? Flip a coin and take our choice but don't blame anybody if you get it wrong.0 -
There must be a definition of HGV in terms of weight limit but "large" vehicle? Could mean the road narrows, there is a tight bend or anything. Might even apply to the largest of SUVs as well as an actual goods vehicle. I'm sure there's "Unsuitable for long vehicles" as well.
Thought - is it a local addition that effectively means "Don't blindly follow the satnav - use the main road if you are in something bigger than a van"?I need to think of something new here...0 -

HGV and LGV are effectively the same thing over 3500kg.0 -

If there's a specific ban, rather than just advice, it'll give the relevant dimensions. Width, height, length or weight.
And, of course, the shape and colouring of the sign will tell you whether it's compulsory or advisory.0 -
They have signs with max height on low bridges. You still get artics and double deckers getting stuck or even worse0

Depends entirely on context.

Road signs have nothing to do with it.0 -

I generally dont take this route, I drive a long wheel base Crafter, I have seen others doing it, but not often.
Its a great short cut, the road is narrow, but its parked cars and other vehicles coming the other way that are the problem.0 -

Current LWB Crafters are 6.9m or 7.4m long... If the cap fits...0
