Best bank account for someone who occasionally goes overdrawn?

That preferably isn't First Direct, as their online system is pretty prehistoric, especially since their 'update/upgrade'.
Or is First Direct the only decent bank for this?

Hmm, that's a bit of a ballache. Nothing really touches First Direct.
Thanks all the same.0 -
Why are you going overdrawn?
Is there nothing you can cut back on to help prevent this?0 -

I would recommend either starling or monzo0

Starling is my favourite pick. Not so much for the rates, but because it shows you so clearly how overdrawn you are and what fees you have accrued. That, combined with instant notifications, I think makes managing the occasional overdraft usage a bit easier.
Monzo does a similar thing, and also puts the charges accrued right at the top of your app in red, which is a good deterrent. But, Monzo is currently much more expensive especially for small balances. And even after the changes in March Starling will be cheaper.0
