But, in answer to your question (although largely irrelevant now), the first time there were no solicitors. He'd had an affair and left me, so felt guilty and continued paying his half of the mortgage until it was sold and paid for the divorce and costs, etc.
Second time, we'd just bought a house, been married maybe a year, and split within another 12-18 months. He involved a solicitor. I didn't. It was fairly amicable, although he did once yell at me he was going for half of everything. I think his solicitor must've clarified that wasn't going to happen...

I understood it to be less than the original deposit left which is why I said the husband would get back whats left of his deposit.
Under 5 year marriage, no children there will be one outcome.0
