Running out of options for mobile banks - request of recommendation

How confusing. You're unhappy Barclays is only open 3 days a week, so in protest you're switching to a bank with no branches?
If it's the app based banking you're after, Barclays have a really very good mobile banking app. Why not use that instead of using the branch?
No bank will "help you budget". Many banks can and will give you tools or even information to help you make financial decisions but ultimately you choose what to spend your money on.: )0 -
Natwest's app now has a spending allocation section, you click on the payment and pick where it should be attributed eg shopping, groceries, bills, transport etc. You can then see where all your money is going.
I go into a branch, at best, once a year, it's all online I do mine.
Telephone banking I've done maybe twice in ten years.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Stick with Barclays and:
1. download their app to your smartphone, or use your PC and their desktop banking
2. and/or call them if you want to make payments, set up payees, check your balance etc
3. and/or use the branch on the days it is open
The Barclays app also has some basic budgeting in helping you track your spending etc
I cannot see a reason for you to move away.0 -
Keep Barclays. Having access to a local bank branch, even if opening hours are limited, may be useful.
At the same time, open a Monzo and/or Starling account and give them a try by periodically transferring spending money from your Barclays account. They provide better apps from a spending tracking and budgeting point of view which may help you better stay on top of your spending.
You don’t need to go all in with a single bank.0
