HPI Check Report
Options
Can someone clarify what's normally shown on the HPI Check report regarding finance. My dad has an HPI check from a dealer showing it is finance free but then a line at the bottom showing interest of a finance lease (from Motability) with an agreement date of Oct 2018. Is this the date the lease agreement ended?

Just to add, the car is a 2013 ex-mobility WAV, and it was under a private plate which was removed in Aug 2013 and the finance interest is listed against the previous VRM. It is detailed as a 60 month lease with the agreement date of Oct 2018 so I can only assume that this was the end date of the agreement, ie, 5 years from 2013 when it was first leased. I'm going to contact HPI for advice as I'm not sure if this is anything to worry about or not.
Is it worth contacting the leaser, ie, Motability, to see what they say about it? If there is no issue am I able to get them to remove the finance interest?0 -
It certainly sounds like the end of the Motability lease, and the car's been in private ownership or trade since then.0

Actually it gets more interesting. Just out of interest I did a DVLA search on the private plate and it's now on a another vehicle registered in September 2018 so I'm wondering whether the lease outlined on the HPI actually refers to the new car, the dates definitely match up. Odd that it's recorded on our HPI report though.0
