We've been doing the same with our freezer, @Blackcats - plenty in there. Definitely need to row back on food purchases atm & get it used up.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

I used to love Human League back in the day. Enjoy 😊

I’m another one trying to use up freezer and store cupboard items.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I’m really jealous of the fact you are going to see Human League, they were my favourite band. I loved their music.

Though I have to confess that some how I didn’t connect that it was Phil Oakey singing with Georgio Moroder on Electric Dreams. I knew it was Phil Oakey but not that Phil Oakey. I just didn’t connect the two. It was only because DH and I are watching a series on TV where they are playing the top 30 of each year in the 80s that I actually twigged 🙄

Sounds like you are getting the balance right with budgeting and having fun. I liked Electric Dreams too.

Thanks SH.  Nice lunch out - expensive but we enjoyed the food, the company and the occasion.
I was updating my spends earlier and saw £28.60 spend at Amaz*n - I couldn't think what I'd bought so I put it against miscellaneous (such a cop out budget category).  I was about to check my amaz account when a parcel crashed through the letterbox - still couldn't think what it was.  Then my friend rang and said that when her parcel arrived she'd pop round to pay me.  So although I got the £28.60 back I assumed I'd bought something for myself and absorb it as miscellaneous.  I suppose at least I bothered to check my budget 🤷‍♀️
I need to update grocery spends and hold myself accountable on the feb grocery challenge thread.  It's a short month so I should be ok.  Have used some food from the freezer and cupboards and kickstarted the month with a £10 lidlee voucher.

Glad you enjoyed your meal out.  I had to collect a parcel this week from the PO  No idea what it was, turned out it was DD2 sending clothes back from the Falklands.
