Might be worth breaking that savings goal down into manageable chunks. I find the 100 squares method is really good. You have a grid of 100 squares, divide the amount by 100 and colour in each square as you achieve it.Enjoy your evening 🥂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Thanks SA - I love a bit of colouring in 😍. I found an idea on Pinterest which I'm going to use - a sweetie jar with 100 "sweets" in to colour. I'm rubbish at drawing so I'm going to practice drawing the jar before I do it in my "best" notebook.3

Visual aids always good motivation. One of things I miss about working in office is being able to print things off.
That's a shame about the beach being next county over. Hopefully you'll get the chance to go later on this year. I'm very lucky with where I live.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

I love candlelight and I've put some fairy lights into the fireplaces in my lounge so they look twinkly too. Despite lockdown I've found January has gone by quite quickly - work has been relentlessly busy but 4 day weeks are brilliant. I'm off tomorrow so I've connected last Friday to this Monday to have a nice break.Sarah, we are looking forward to the beach, hopefully in the spring. I suppose one thing we've all learned is not to take anything for granted anymore.
it's payday tomorrow but my budget month runs until 4th of the month to coincide with my paid off in full credit card statement. I'm on track for a low spend month as long as I don't derail myself.
car service and MOT on Wednesday - I've got money in my car pot and the friendly garage have offered a good price for cash. I've got a cash stash from the money elderly relative has paid me for things I've bought on their behalf on my card. Hopefully it will pass it's MOT. Other than that I need to get cat food - they will only eat an upmarket variety which isn't available in L*dl 😻. I'll stock up to prevent additional supermarket trips. They have downshifted their brand of dry food and treats which is considerate of them.5 -
I’ve also got lights round my fireplace plus a twig tree all year round. My cat will only eat Felix, she won’t downshift which is very inconsiderate of her 😆Fingers crossed your car passes its MOT🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I love fairy lights too. I'm hoping to put one of the 50p strings I bought in Wilk*'s sale the other week up in our conservatory today.

Thank you SA, SH and foxgloves - fairy lights are a great way to create a nice atmosphere. I need to top up batteries on a couple of sets that were languishing at the back of a cupboard and then I'll put them on the mantelpieces. Was booked to go for a walk at a NT garden today but because of the snow it was closed. I'm quite relieved as I do a great impression of bambi on ice but not quite as elegant.
Instead we took a flask of tea to a local car park with fab views out over the distant city. Stayed in the car but it felt refreshing as a change of scene.
no money spent again today. I've nearly run out of shampoo and conditioner so I've used the decanted pots I made over Christmas where I tipped all the mini hotel bottles together into an empty shampoo bottle. It's got quite a "lively" scent but it does the job and best of all prevents a trip to the shops which would probably involve buying more than a bottle of shampoo and conditioner.4 -
You know how to live with your flask of tea in the car park 😆 I think this virus has taught us to enjoy the simple things. That’s very frugal of you with the shampoo and conditioner. I must admit I’m one of those people who cut tubes in half when they’re pretending to be empty, always loads left still.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
