I keep my shredder in my craft room !!!!!! office and when I have papers to shred I keep them by the shredder and each time I go into the room I shred some. My shredder doesn't like doing too much at a time as it goes overheated so it works for me.

Thank you for advice on eating the frog. I've tried to eat the paperwork frog each day - it is getting better and I've started to feel much more organised. Thanks JoeDenise - shredding a personal are by the shredder and I've been doing a few a day.
been busy in real life with a poorly relative but they seem to be on the mend now.
in a massive shopping from home victory I have used many of my old things from the garage into my formerly unused summerhouse at the bottom of the garden. I've got a sofa, old rug, pictures, lampshades, an old table, mirror etc. It's very eclectic and doesn't fit with my usual "everything must match" approach but it works in the summerhouse.I spent a small amount of money - probably less than £20 and I've got a fab new space to enjoy5 -
Your summer house sounds lovely. Sometimes things look cosier / more interesting when they don't all matchAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Summerhouse sounds fab, Blackcats. I like the eclectic look, rather than everything being co-ordinated. I have lots of vintage stuff & enjoy combining it with more contemporary bits & pieces. Great to hear that you shopped from home too.
F x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!3 -
thanks saving Holmes and foxgloves - I am inspired by the clever/inventive people on these boards. On one of the walls, the look is absolutely the look of a modern "chain" pub that's been designed to look vintage. My gilt framed Victoriana mirror that looked perfect in my Victorian cottage 20 years ago and has lurked in the garage since I moved from that house now looks triumphant again in the summer house (large shed). My one attempt at growing plants this year, the sunflower seeds are thriving too. Low spend, high happiness. I think I'm getting the hang of this at last 👏7

Sticking to my meal plan this week despite an urge to stray into take away territory. I've got so much food in the freezer that can make lots of lovely dinners.I was experimenting with my smart meter yesterday, looking at the cost of various appliances - very interesting. Or is that just lock down boredom taking over 🤔.6

A nice walk this morning although it seems that many people have forgotten all about social distancing which I think is scary. My local convenience shop appears to have abandoned its one way system and queuing protocols. Staff aren't wearing gloves let alone masks. I've been shopping locally rather than going to the bigger supermarkets but I'm not sure that's the right thing to do anymore.
Still behind with my admin - I think I need a list and just get on with it, one task at a time and eat the frog first. Without a list I feel overwhelmed and consequently don't get anything done.
on a more positive note, spending remains low. I still have £56 of my personal spend budget left and I don't "need/want" anything at the moment. Knowing me though I'm sure I'll think of something 👛6 -
Glad the personal spends thing is working for you. I agree with you on social distancing - it is scary how some people are.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I think staying at home as much as possible seems the best plan. I love being at home and for a person who used to spend hundreds of £s a month eating out/coffee/drinks etc I'm now wondering WHY did I do that. I will eventually go out to eat again but will be selective and £10 from the chancellor towards my dinner hasn't tempted me. Oh and the number of emails from restaurants offering me discounts etc is ridiculous.I have 2 favourite independent restaurants that I will visit but not for a while yet. Maybe I'll even put some money in a savings pot to plan for my visit 😇.
i put in a very last minute PPI claim just before the deadline. It was completely speculative but I've been awarded a refund. Very happy with that outcome. Clearly though it was PPI on a loan that I'd taken out for something or other (long forgotten) and whilst I've get the PPI back, goodness only knows how much interest I paid. Hey ho - Improving financial maturity is better late than never.6 -
Great news on the PPI.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
