Thank you SH, Cheery, Lady H and leftattthetrafficlights
we are away on a week's holiday - visiting family in Spain. The weather is gloriously warm and sunny so taking the opportunity for wearing summery clothes before they are packed away for the winter. I think it could be classed as money saving as at least we aren't having to switch the heating on while we are on holiday.
I was pleasantly surprised with the cost of a lunch out today - 5 main courses, 1 bottle of red, 2 glasses of white wine and 3 beers - €55. Just for the purposes of clarity that wasn't all for me 😎

Thank you @Sun_Addict and @leftatthetrafficlights.We are really enjoying the holiday - we were nervous about travelling after covid lockdown and summer travel chaos but the sunshine and relaxation has been so rejuvenating.
we have been spending money and will tot up total spends when we get home - I think the holiday savings pot won't quite cover total spends. I doubled the planned cat care visits because 1 blackcat has been behaving very strangely and I wanted to make sure he is ok. The cat care lady has been sending photos and tonight she sent a video and the blackcats both seem very content.
I did next week's meal plan sitting on the balcony in the sun 😎3 -
Love the meal planning even while away.
5 meals and drinks for 55 euros sounds great value.

Glad you're enjoying your holiday in Spain. I agree with @savingholmes a meal for 5 people including wine for 55 Euros is extremely good value.
We're off to Lanzarote next month. Can't wait to be in the warmth and sunshine. We're meeting up with my DSis who I haven't seen since you moved to Scotland early this year so that will be good too. We talk on the phone regularly but it's not the same as actually seeing someone is it?
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Thank you SH. Your holiday will be lovely JoeDenise - so nice for you to have some sunshine and to spend time with family.
back home now - there was a massive storm last night so we left a grey and bedraggled Spain and arrived home to a bright and sunny day here. I'm enjoying a cup of tea before unpacking and doing some washing. Summer clothes can definitely get washed and put away now.
there's something so nice about enjoying the first cup of tea at home after a holiday and as a bonus one of the cats has graced me with his presence and plonked himself on my lap - bliss.
