Are Bt whole home mini disks the same as the BT complete wifi package?

Hi, im due to renew my broadband contract, im currently with BT.

I spoke to them and they offered me the "complete wifi halo package"

https://www.bt.com/broadband/complete-wifi

Which is the new smart hub 2 router and the wifi disks but are these the same disks that you can buy from amazon? etc

eg:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/BT-Seamless-Connection-Everywhere-Complete/dp/B07RRWL39N/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=X3SWSYSLM7M3&keywords=bt+whol e+home+wi-fi%2C+pack+of+3+discs&qid=1576682186&smid=A3P5ROKL 5A1OLE&sprefix=bt+whole+%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExTU9OV ExWN1lDRjkxJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzU0NTQ0MUFFTlU2OFc 5TEFJNyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzc0NTgwMkc1RVVGNVBMS zBHViZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWR pcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Are they offering me the same thing or is the complete wifi package something different, and possibly a cheaper product than you can buy from Amazon etc?

Also with the "complete wifi package" they are saying they will initially send me out one disk and then if its not good enough, i can just call up and get another two sent out?! I did question this (as i don't trust BT!) but they guy assured me that's all i have to do...

Does anybody have any experience with this package? Or any opinion overall about what is best?

Thanks

Don't sign up if your cabinet hasn't been updated to fibre. I have just reverted back to the home hub 4 as the new router was slower. I was sold the halo package on the basis it would speed up a slow connection by 25%. It didn't work

Although the two products mentioned basically work in the same way, ie creating a mesh system, the first is a router with a mesh system built in which connects to the disc elsewhere in the house to expand your network, whereas the second is a standalone mesh system where one disc has to be physically connected to your router to become the base station which then connects to the other 2 (or more) discs.

One thing to consider is that you can use the second option with other routers, so if you switched to Plusnet for example, you could connect your mesh system to that.
