Looking for landline only supplier
Currently paying BT £26 for line rental and all day inclusive landline calls.

Sadly the MSE 'broadband checker' says no results found despite BT and Post Office being available.

Any other suggestions , but don't want to loose the number we have.

:)

  • If you just want to keep the number and have broadband some other way, port the number to a VOIP provider?

We already have wireless (?) broadband from Airband but am reluctant to use VOIP as our burglar alarm would need a new dialler system and we would end up spending more that we save.

Also, if the internet goes down, our rural area has poor mobile coverage so the 'security' of a fixed line to keep in touch with all generations above and below us is important.

If you have ‘broadband’ connection via a wireless provider, then BT’s no broadband (with anyone) £8 reduction probably wouldn’t be available to you , so standard line rental with BT is ( AFAIK ) £19.99 but the home phone saver 2020 is line rental, calls and line facility’s is £21.99 , cheaper than your current cost.
The PO did offer a reduction to phone only customers , you could always call them and ask, but the big company’s like Sky and TT don’t offer a reduction if you don’t want broadband

    Just checked my bill - it's actually £21.98 ;)
But then I also pay (forgot to mention, sorry) £3.50 for "1571 voicemail with call protect"

    =£25.48

Simpletelecoms (https://www.simpletelecoms.co.uk/Home-Telephone-lines.htm) do a £14.10 per month rental with per second billing. Even lower price (10.99) for 'pensioners'.

Freeola (https://freeola.com/line-rental/) do a cheap £10.99 per month line rental but outgoing calls are limited to 0800 and emergency numbers only so it probably won't suit you.

The home phone saver would save you around £3.50/month and seems to include what you have and a few other features for £21.99
