Wrong Delivery NIGHTMARE!

Good morning,
Can anyone offer advice please on where I stand..
I ordered my husband a particular football shirt as a Christmas present last week. When I received the delivery, the shirt I received wasn’t the one I’d ordered. I contacted them about their error and they said I’d have to send it back at my own cost and, once received, they’d then send the correct one out. After an email or two and worrying it wouldn’t actually make it back to me in time for crimbo, I contacted them yesterday to say I’d keep the incorrect shirt after all to save hassle.
However, my email hasn’t been understood and the club have supposedly sent out the replacement and are now demanding I send the incorrect one back- it’s already wrapped up for crimbo with the tags removed now though!
They e provided tracking on the new delivery but that’s not recognised, so I cannot confirm that it is actually on the way.
Where do I stand?
I understand I originally wanted the correct shirt and have now changed my mind, but I never consented for the new one to be sent, quite the opposite!
They surely can’t take the money from my account as I haven’t authorised the payment. I would decline the delivery if/when it comes, but when the incorrect one was delivered, it was posted through my door, so I won’t be able to decline..
