has anyone got any deals for a bedroom 14 " tele.. I have tried and their appears to be a shortage of just these basic sets

Do you mean crt or an lcd screen?

If you mean the old boxy ones that places like Currys don't sell anymore, I'd try somewhere like freecycle. I'd bet theres plenty of people getting rid of them since they bought a new LCD one.

Well there's no guarantee from freecycle, but then it doesn't cost you anything.

Personally I'd ask on freecycle, get one for nothing. There's no guarantee but if it breaks just get another from Freecycle. I saw a range of Digihome CRT TVs in Tesco yesterday in various sizes so you could try there.
