Ballpoint pen refills?

I wasn't really sure where to put this thread (moderators please move if a better forum is available), but here goes.

Some time back, someone gave me a really cool pen, with a built in light and tablet/smart phone stylus.

The other day the light stopped working. I've figured out how to replace the batteries (standard LR44/AG3 button cells), but it's only a matter of time before the ink refill runs out, and my nice shiny pen becomes an ornament.

Does anyone have a link to replacement ink refills.

Dimensions are:-

Length - 70mm
Barrel diameter - 2.25mm
Plastic top diameter - 5mm
Threaded section 4.5mm

Yep, those are the ones, but I wasn't aware they were bog standard pen refills.

I've mostly only seen the long plastic ones, and the Parker/Papermate type.

When I was first given it, I thought, given its short length, it might take the refills for the Fisher Space Pen.

To be honest when you consider pens are mass manufactured and can be picked up for pennies, the entire operation basically boils down to a piece of thin plastic, some ink and the force of gravity.

You pay more for a name in these things than anything else and the ability for it to look pretty and handle/hold better, and some may use unique filling and "feel" and "flow" better, but realistically if you were dragged up on pens that were bought as part of a pack of 50 for about £2, you're not going to know any better.

Fountain pens on the other hand, if used properly (ie not by me ) have their uses particularly with the various nibs available and if you need a certain impression to be made with the work.

Or, .... if you know the name/maker I would be glad to search, thanks. It's a gift for someone who is 'difficult to buy for' so I would be pleased to be able to buy it.

They've arrived, but just look at the size of the envelope they came in. :eek:
