Repair Shed or Replace?

My wooden garden shed, 8ft by 6ft, is 28 years old and needs a new roof, the door is rotten at the bottom and the 2 panels on either side of the door need replaced.

Also some boards on the side need replacing.

The window cill also needs repaired as well as the glass which is cracked.

The problem is it is constructed of 3/4 inch shiplap which is no longer available, the nearest I can get is 12mm.

Do I spend up to £200 to repair it or buy a new shed with 12mm shiplap costing about £500 which is guaranteed for 10 years given that my age is 74?

If you are 74, I suggest you could consider those plastic shed.
It don't even need to repaint.

If you decided to go for replace/ repair your wooden shed.
You should buy expensive shed felt which last 25 years.
There are cheap shed felt last for 5 years, but changing it is too much of hard work.

A problem that can occur with metal and plastic sheds is excessive condensation - wooden sheds are better at allowing the space to vent. My neighbour found a lot of his tools were going rusty in his metal shed and ended up replacing it 2 years later.

To the OP - if the stuff that is stored isn't precious (e.g., spades, etc., rather than power tools), in your position I'd get it repaired - but get a fixed quote from whoever is going to repair it. I had a similar shed and couldn't get anybody to touch it.
