The other day when I got up I realised how pleased I was that I don't have any children. It means that I will never have to move to an area that I don't want to live in just to be near them and I will get to make my own decisions as to where I want to live in sheltered housing if I live long enough.
What no one on here has considered is what happens if an elderly person moves to an area to be near their children and then outlives the children. They are then living in an area which they don't know very well and where they don't really know anyone. I think that anyone of any age relying on someone else to look after them rather than taking their own decisions is at risk.0 -
Or, even if you did have children, you could still chose not to move and make your own decisions about where to live. The other day when I got up I realised how pleased I was that I don't have any children.
