can flannel bedding be tumble dried

I have managed to find some new flannel bedding and have to pre-wash before use. They have not arrived yet but I am making plans, cannot wait to strip the too-warm fleece off my bed. There is no way flannel will dry on my whirligig at this time of year and I definitely don`t want to risk shrinking or damaging the sheets
How should I tackle drying a full single sized bed set in foggy winter conditions? I have an airer and a de-humidifier as well as a tumble drier

I'd say the sensible thing is to check the care label.0

I tumble my flannel, its too thick and heavy to dry on the clothes horse
Mine has never shrunk, but it is a very high thread count, don't know if that makes a difference?0 -
I tumble dry mine on the delicate setting, if I have to, but prefer to dry them in the stairwell, with the hallway radiator turned on.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

Thank you, yes naturally I would check the care label but am grateful to read from those who have the tumbling experience.
The more I think of it the more I think it is fleece waking me up. Fleece top and bottom and on pillows and so I must be covered in static all night. I was hoping I might get the flannel on the bed tonight, hence the question. I can wash low setting and use my spin drier to take a lot of moisture out, then use the gentle warm tumble and fingers crossed that I can dry at least part of the bed bundle . It will arrive by 3pm
The fleece is off the bed and washing, will dry and take to cs tomorrow. One way or another I will be sleeping on cotton tonight, perhaps part warm flannel and part cool summer bedding plus wool socks if needed0 -

Personally, I will only use high thread count 100% cotton bedding.
Flannelette takes me back to my childhood.
Horrible bobbly feeling in bed.
But each to their own.0 -
But unless you have exactly the same sheets, other people's experience may not be relevant...

Mine is 100% cotton and no bobbles yet - its about 12 years old
Brushed cotton is the new term for flannel0 -
I have used flannel for many years in the past and never had bobbly bedding. I regret the day I went to fleece and gave the flannel away but so be it. The flannel I am expecting is very good (expensive) quality. Flannelette is different to brushed cotton, which can and does bobble. Brushed cotton is the cheapest and is only brushed on one side
It will be here in a couple of hours and I have set my underfloor heating in the kitchen to a higher temperature. A good long spin at 2400 revs and it could well mostly dry on the airer, to be finished on delicate in the tumbler0 -
I'm intrigued! I've never heard of nor seen fleece sheets.
I would have thought that smooth cotton would be cooler than flannel?i guess it's pretty absorbent though.
I like both but on balance prefer the smoothness of cotton.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
When my DDs were babies and times were hard I bought a flannelette sheet from a CS for 15/- (75p) and cut it into four and hemmed it round by hand and had four lovely warm cot sheets for my babies. Both my DDs were December babies so needed to be snuggly and warm (no central heating in those days ) I also used to wrap them round their legs in the pushchair when shopping as their little legs needed to be kept warm never had a TD so I couldn't say but on a breezy day in the winter even damp dry they would finish off on the airer OK0

They arrived and are heavyweight supreme luxury cotton, they certainly feel very nice, I am washing one set right now on autowash with an extra rinse at 30 with a 1400 spin speed. I`ll pop them in the real spiiner when finished and they can go into the tumbler on a delicate cycle, It`ll take me hours because I`ll be drying half at a time, I am determined to get these on my bed tonight. The other set can just go on the line, if we ever get a dry day0
