What counts as 'wholly within a marked bay'?

Hello!
I recently received a ticket on my windscreen for apparently 'not being wholly within a marked bay' except in the photo they've sent me, I believe my tyre is clearly in contact with the outside of the while line (although admittedly not inside it). I am at the end of a row, so not encroaching on another space, nor causing any kind of obstruction. The white lines themselves are faded and adjacent to lines on the tarmac, so pretty unclear anyway.
I'd be grateful you could please advise as to whether you think I have grounds for appeal
Not sure if it is relevant, but it is the carpark at my work for which I hold and had displayed a pre-paid permit.
Is there any way I can upload the pic they have sent as 'evidence'? It might give you a better idea of what I am talking about!
Many thanks

Depends if you are talking about a Council PCN or a private firm, if so, who?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Private land, its the carpark where I work, 'ticket' issued by UK Car Park Management0

Then there is no appeal that can work at this stage, as you will hopefully know from reading NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST. This is an IPC firm.
This is not a real parking ticket, and we really hope you have read enough to realise.
Search the forum for see you in 2020 and Jack Chapman signature.
That's it really, come back when you get the Gladstones court claim in 2020 as that is when you win, unless you can convince the site management/your workplace to cancel it this week. They can.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate you taking the time.
I suppose my question is: When the sign says 'wholly within a marked bay' how is that generally defined? Is there case law on this point?
If it has been found to mean that all 4 wheels must be within the lines, then I think it's probably a fair cop...
You clearly have plenty of experience, what has been the general interpretation of this point?0 -

Don't be a victim.
You still seem to be thinking it is a real PCN from a legit firm, whereas you are at the start of a scam rollercoaster that will see you sued, and winning the case in 2020 at your local court.
Start reading the posts that you find with the searches I suggested.
No looking for case law about what constitutes parking in a bay. There is no such thing and this isn't a penalty charge notice so cannot be compared to Council definitions.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There's no defined boundaries on private land. Ppcs make it up to suit themselves and their ability to squeeze money from the general public.
You must forget about the limits, there are none. But you let a Judge determine that in due course, if it gets that far. There are no silver bullets at this stage. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Fair enough, I'll just wait for a letter before claim in that case.
I'm actually a law graduate and have successfully brought and defended a few claims in the small claims court. Would be good to add another scalp to my pile
Many thanks for your help.0 -

Come and join the cause once your case is concluded. There's a much bigger picture at play here than individual parking charges.

We help people scalp PPC scammers all the time here, every week! Stick around, you will be very welcome and will learn loads about this scam.
You have one of the most litigious (but useless at it) PPCs in that car park!
You will laugh when you read about the significance of Jack Chapman's signature.
I promise you it will interest you to see how bargepole, then several posters here following suit, have reported the solicitors (Gladstones) to the SRA and they are being investigated, as we speak.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Complain to whoever employed the PPC.
Let them know how appalled you are that these vultures are trying to scam you.
They hired them so they can order their pet rottweiler to cancel.0
