Barclays Mortgage Application - FTB and SCARED!!!

I called up barclays to obtain an update regarding my mortgage application, I have been told that the risk team/underwriters are reviewing my application.

I was only asked for payslips? is this normal? and why has it been taking more than 3 days to obtain an outcome?

I welcome any aid..!!!

Thanks in advanced.

Relax. Has the property survey been undertaken yet?

    Both are normal for Barclays.

Presumably you wanted best rate and were happy to accept lower level of service...

  • They said they may not need one and may do a desktop valuation.
  • Hey, we've just been accepted for a mortgage with Barclays. Our application went in on the 28th November, we were asked for additional documentation on the 3rd, provided on the 5th, offered on the 12th. We used a broker, which could have either sped up or slowed down the process.

Basically, I wouldn't be worrying yet.
  • Thanks that really helps!
  • Barclaysbare either brilliant and can wrap up a case in daysm or you will eventually lose the will to live. There is no inbetween

If they have only asked for payslips it sounds like a fairly easy case so you shouod be fine
  • I know im panicking, however it has been 4.5 working days and still no answer.
  • Application has gone to audit team with no timescale? Is this normal?

Ask Barclays what the service level agreement is for such a situation, if they have one.

Unfortunately, no-one out here can second-guess Barclays policy.

I have applied for the mortgage from Barclays on 8th July 2020. On 13th July, they have requested my 2017/18 tax working although I have provided last 2 years SA 302.

    Is it normal?
