Hi:
I got a letter from parking eye that I have to pay 60 pound as I parked in Adelphi Hotel car park for 11 mins. I have appealed and it was refused.
I have parked because it was raining, busy on roads and I was getting late to offer my prayer. I didn't realized that time otherwise I would never parked it. I can appeal to POPLA but in case of refusal, I have to pay 100 pounds. Any help would be appreciated.
Following is my appeal to parking eye.
( Dear Sir/Madam:
I got a parking charge notice as it's stated that I have parked my car for 11 mins. I have the following reasons to appeal against it.
1. I never been into this car park and I assumed that like other car park first 20 mins would be free because it was rainy evening and it was pitch black, so I couldn't see any parking instructions.
2. Being a practicing Muslim I offered my prayer and that was sunset prayer time. Usually I go to nearest mosque but that evening all the roads were grid locked due to road works and heavy traffic. And I knew I can't reach to the mosque as one had to do prayer in certain timings. I had to find some safe place where I can offer my prayer and the only place I closed by, was Adelphi car park. I stayed their for 11 mins and during all that time I didn't leave my car nor I came out of my car.
My intentions were never to breach the rules but it's all happened unintentionally.
I am sole earner of family of 5 people and this parking fine is too much for me. Almost a one week grocery for my family.
I humbly requesting to review this decision. I will be thankful.
