Bw Legal - Scam or Court?

Hi there.

I was given a parking fine by premiere parking solutions in September 2017. After checking these forums, it seemed to be the best course of action to ignore everything - which I did...

I have now got a letter from bwlegal asking for £160 and saying that I have until the 28th Dec to pay. If not, they 'may instruct us to commence County Court proceedings against you...for legal fees soliciter feees, statutory interest, and balance due, etc'.

I'm in a very busy period of my life right now (little kids, new job, etc), so not sure I can spend hours of time on this. Is it worth just giving in and paying; or should I continue to ignore and hope for the best?

Cheers all

Sam

Can you point to the thread/post that suggested you ignore please, as, if it is suggesting that, it is wrong. You are beyond appealing so all you can do is sit and wait for their threat to materialise. Actually that is not all you can do, you can prepare yourself for the possible court claim by reading the NEWBIE sticky post # 2 and finding the 17 pre-written defences and the link by bargepole about what happens and when.

That's now three threads about this one incident.

Please ask a Board Guide to merge your threads.

Did you follow any of the suggestions made on your earlier threads?

Is this a LETTER BEFORE CLAIM which gave you 30 days to respond

When is the letter dated ?

You do not owe £160 it is part of the BWLegal scam

    READ THIS
Abuse of Process ... District Judge tells BWLegal

So, gently gently catch a monkey ..... ask them by email on what authority do they have to add £60 to their claim ?

We already know how they reply but let's see what they say to you
  • I'm really sorry for starting another thread. I find reading all the messages boards really really really difficult to follow/read because I'm very dyslexic.

I have had zero correspondence with premiere parking or BW legal. The date of original contravention was Sep 2017, this latest letter is dated 11th December 2019.

So, I should e-mail them and ask: 'what authority do they have to add £60 to their claim? They are saying its £100 for parking charges and £60 for Our Clients initial legal fees.

    Thanks

With a letter dated 11th Dec wanting you to pay by the 28th is not a letter before claim which must give you 30 days to respond

Just another bog standard debt collector letter, a fairy scary ?

Wait to see if they send you a LETTER BEFORE CLAIM when you can ask the same question about authority.

What they have said ... "Clients initial legal fees" is rubbish and they know it.
The law does not allow this type of abuse, they know that as well

It is their constant use of ridiculous phrases that get BWLegal spanked in court

    Are you sure about that?

I received a parking ticket in September by PPS/ premier parking solutions. I actually forgot about it until they sent a letter asking for a £100.00 charge and £30 admin fees a few months later.
  • Thanks beamer guy.
They sent me a letter in Nov, called the 'first letter'. This is now the second letter. They have given me 16 days before they might commence county court. They also refer to ParkingEye v Beavis...
Perhaps this is just bog-standard fare. I will now e-mail about the £60 as suggested.
Thanks for all your help once again.
  • Sorry Keith P, what I meant to say was that I have not responded to any of the letters they had been sending me, but not for about a year...

Just wait until you get a REAL LETTER BEFORE CLAIM, the others are just BWLegal wasting their money and time, so sad promoting a scam

Be smart, gently gently catch a monkey
  • UPDATE. Just received a 'Letter of Claim' from BWLegal. I suppose now is the time to respond via e-mail? Here is a link to the letter: https://img42.com/35QjK
