Unwitnessed Will and Lifetime Planning Associates

Hi All
Has anyone every had any dealings with a company called Lifetime Planning Associates?
My daughter's partner's gran died a couple of weeks ago and it seems she updated her will with this company in August. (I havent seen the will and getting very much second hand information I'm afraid)
However, this company appears to have been liquidated in August and another company has contacted them to say theyve bought the assets and will be acting as executors. Seems to be a phoenix company situation, just the sort you want to clear up an estate!
I'm not sure they can do this but I've suggested to the family that they look at what the will says about substitute executors
However, whilst the new will is signed by the deceased, it isnt witnessed - presumably it therefore fails and they revert to the previous will? This is what they plan to do but just concerned that the company will try and exert their right to be an executor - 2.5% of the estate as a fee plus disbursements no doubt.
The estate comprises mostly a mortage free house value circa £150k but there is an added complication that her partner lived with her and hasnt been left anything. The company wanted to come down today to take an inventory and escort him from the building - an old man in his 70s who has lived there for 15 years and just lost his partner.
The family wish to revert to the old will which means they will be executors and the old chap will be allowed to live there until he moves on.
thanks for any advice.

If the will is not witnessed then it is invalid, but are you sure this bunch of parasites don’t have the the original will and what you are looking at is a copy?
Even if that is the case they have no right to take over the executors role, and they should be told where to go in no uncertain terms.
If the beneficiaries are happy to let the partner stay put and there is actually a valid copy of this new will they could give the partner a life interest in the property through a deed of variation.0 -
I'm a bit unclear about what you mean by substitute executors.Dou you mean the will company are trying to eject him?
Edit -is it's looking like the will company have obtained power of attorney from the old lady?
The insolvency company that was named in the liquidation case owns this company too.Same director.

But It might be which point the will company knew they were in trouble
This link shows a letter from the director dated 16th August
https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/3371839
at which point were they being to be advised by the liquidators, compared to when the new will was first mooted to be changed.
It's odd you mention will changes were made in August , because that's when the company was wound up?
The will was changed in August on what date?
Very concerning...0 -
I can see why you are concerned
Lots of questionable stuff about Lifestyle planning associates limited.

Is it just a copy that doesn't have the witness signatures?
Until you've seen the original will, you won't know the situation for sure.
If the firm is dubious in its business practice, would they go so far as to have people sign the original now as witnesses and backdate it?0 -
This is the new incarnation of the will company

Also does anyone know exactly what this means from the companies page
"Lasting Power of Attorney
(commonly known as KPD)
A document made and signed by the Donor (the person making the KPD) empowering his/her Attorneys to take charge of the Donor`s welfare, property and affairs, in the event of the Donor becoming incapacitated."
Bearing in mind the company is called kpd0 -

LPA / LPOA usually
Someone who doesn't know what the are doing has written that page0 -
