Terms & Conditions – Chatbot competition “Lost in Simris | An interactive crime story”

1. General
a. Participation in the competition requires your consent to the following conditions.
b. The competition organiser is E.ON SE, Brüsseler Platz 1, 45131 Essen (hereinafter “E.ON”).
2. Eligibility for participation
Anyone aged over 18 is eligible to enter the competition. This does not include E.ON staff or their relatives, who are prohibited from taking part.
3. Competition prize and execution
a. All Facebook users using Facebook Messenger to solve the chatbot thriller “Lost in Simris | An interactive crime story” between the 11th November 2019 and the 20th December 2019 will be entered into a draw by E.ON to win one main prize consisting of an iPhone XS (black, 64 GB; total value approx. €1,300) and a premium ambient lighting control set (3x Philips Hue colour starter kit including Hue Bridge and dimmer with motion sensor and Sonos One in white; total value approx. €470). You immediately become eligible to take part in the competition once you have reached the end of the chatbot thriller case and solved it correctly. Participants in the competition making posts that do not meet the above criteria and/or represent a breach of Facebook’s Terms and Conditions of Use shall not be eligible to take part in the competition.
b. All authorised competition participants shall be entered into the draw after the participation period ends on 20th December 2019. Once the draw has been carried out, the winner will be contacted via private message on Facebook on 6th January 2020. The winner shall be informed of their win and asked to email socialmedia@eon.com within a period of four weeks after receiving the Facebook message in order to confirm the win and their full name, postal address, age and email address.
c. If the winner does not contact the above email address within the specified time period, or the winner cannot be informed of their win due to technical reasons for which the winner is responsible, the prize is forfeited. E.ON is not obliged to carry out any inquiries with regard to the winner.
d. Participation in the competition is free.
e. Participation and the chance of winning are not dependent on the purchase of goods or services.
f. The costs of the Internet connection and/or the costs of the use of a mobile provider are to be borne by the participant.
4. Data privacy
a. By participating in the competition, the user consents to the use of his or her personal data for the purposes of implementing the competition.
b. Responsibility
We are responsible for the processing of any of your personal data that becomes known to us in the context of handling your affairs. If you have any questions with regard to data privacy or you would like to assert your rights under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter: GDPR), please contact:

c. Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights with regard to personal data that pertains to you:

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority about the way your personal data has been handled by us.
d. Processing personal data and legal basis
We process the data you provide on the basis of Section 6, Para 1(1b) GDPR solely for the purpose of executing the competition and informing the winner, and we will inform you, if you consent, of new offers on the basis of your consent provided under Section 6, Para. 1(1a) GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time, although this does not affect the legality of any data processed from the time of your consent until its revocation.
e. Duration of storage of personal data
We delete your personal data if we have not had any relevant contact with you, your company or organisation for a period of six months unless we are obliged to retain the information due to another regulation or law.
f. Sharing of personal data with third parties
We occasionally use external service providers to process your data. These service providers have been carefully selected and commissioned with the task, are obliged to follow our instructions and are vetted regularly. Your data will only be shared to the extent necessary in order to carry out your order, to ship it to you and to process payments. No other data will be shared with any other third parties.
g. No profiling
Your data is not subject to profiling, i.e. the automatic processing of personal data to evaluate personal aspects with regard to a natural person.
5. Liability
a. All claims for damages against E.ON are excluded, except in the case of malicious intent or gross negligence.
b. E.ON and the relevant legal representatives or vicarious agents are only liable for damages suffered by the participant insofar as the damages were caused by E.ON, its legal representatives or vicarious agents through malicious intent or gross negligence.
c. This liability limitation does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, limb or health. Furthermore, it does not apply in the event of the breach of essential contractual obligations. In such cases, E.ON’s liability is limited to the justified amount that would be typical and foreseeable at the time of the conclusion of the user agreement. An essential contractual obligation is an obligation upon whose fulfilment the proper implementation of the contract depends and on upon compliance with which the contractual partner should be able to rely.
6. Transferability, miscellaneous
a. The prize may not be exchanged for a cash payment or other material assets and it may not be transferred to another person.
b. In the unlikely event of the prize becoming unavailable, E.ON reserves the right to replace it with a prize that is, in its estimation, of similar or higher value.
c. This contract is exclusively subject to the applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
7. Facebook and Instagram conditions and notes

Participants may not assert any claims against Facebook or Instagram in the context of participation in the competition.

All information and data obtained from or collected by participants during the competition is only provided by E.ON and not Facebook or Instagram. Any enquiries and feedback with regard to the competition must be directed to E.ON and not to Facebook or Instagram.

How do you actually enter this one? Do you have send them an answer in Messenger and if so, does anyone know what the answer is?

It took me a while to figure out, but if you write 'Start' in messenger you should get a start button, you then work your way through a litlle story with different options to click along the way. Once you complete the story you get the option to participate in the prize draw or not.
