The OP is saying cumulative transactions not a contactless issue per se.

You don't have a joint credit card- it's your credit card and the additional cardholder is piggybacking on your facility.

Ultimately, If you aren't happy with their anti-fraud systems, probably better to look elsewhere.

Check with tesco 0345 300 4278. they will tell you when you reach £130 of contactless within a day they stop contactless and ask you to insert card and use your pin. this will then reset the contactless to go upto £130. basically if your card was stolen the thief can get no more than £130 before the card stops contacless and pin requested.

    Any one else had this?

I've had cards blocked because of suspicious activity, the limits they apply aren't specifically mentioned because they are based on what the computer thinks would be normal for me.

Just phoning the issuer and confirming that it's me has sorted it out though, their refusal to speak to your wife is expected. If she wants to be able to talk to them then she needs to open her own account, not rely on a lesser joint account.

Security systems are based on fraud patterns. Easy to track.
    Unlike tracking every customers spending.

The vast majority of fraud is committed at well know, well used retailers.

  • For consecutive contactless transactions I think it makes sense. But where is OP? Has he got any help?
