Hi all
My new TV doesn’t have a standard tv aerial input - the coaxial one. Can I convert that aerial (roof mounted) to hdmi somehow? We don’t watch much live TV but would like the option.
Thanks
S

Sounds like you have bought a monitor rather than a TV.0

As I can not see anyone selling a TV without some kind of aerial connector i wonder if what you have is in fact a monitor?Hi all

If you can not see an obvious belling lee aerial connector is there an F type connector, like used on satellite boxes?
If you have not got any antennae connectors of any sort I would suggest you ask the retailer to take it back as it is not fit for purpose as a TV, or if you must keep it get a standalone freeview/freesat box to use with it.At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Ok I confess. I broke the aerial connector moving the TV around. It can be repaired but if I can find a work around I’d be ok with that. No idea why I felt the need to hide the truth from an anonymous forum but I’m pretty mortified about it all.0

OK No problem (except a broken AE socket), cheapest way to get off air signals will be a cheap freeview box..At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Please do not pick me up for this as, after all, it is only an internet forum.0

You need to buy a Freeview tv box it will take your tv aerial and convert it into a HDMI connetion for your tv - added benefit you will be able to record programmes.0

You should be able to get it repaired for far less than the cost of a freeview box.
It's simply a coax socket (costs peanuts) and a short piece of coax wire to the motherboard on the inside.
They can be fiddly but should be well within reason forsome competent with a screwdriver and soldering iron.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0
