Hi I need some help...
I have just purchased a Lacie external 500GB hard drive which is USB 2.
Anyway i have been informed that the hard drive comes FAT32 formatted which has maxium file sizes of 4GB.And would run slow on XP etc.
Anyway i want to use this hard drive on my PS3 aswell (only supports FAT32) and also with my laptop and PC which run windows. Therefore how and can I format this hard drive into two partitions one which is FAT32 and the other NTFS?
Also a silly question, but would both systems be able to read from each partition. I want about 120GB for PS3 (FAT32) and the rest NTFS to back up all my other files pics and video etc on laptop and desktop.
Sorry if i have any of the vital information incorrect, i am not Techie ...

Personally I would not partition the drives, but rather get another smaller drive - or case and put a drive in that.

4 GB is the max file size rather than partition size.
Test it on both systems before you move anything to itGOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.
