courtesy car demanding full payment
Options
Can someone please help me. Had and accident two year ago, solicitors on that time advised me to get a Courtesy car from the third party.
Recently the hired company send me the letter demanding full payment for the courtesy car as they could not get the money from the third party.
I havent got that much money to pay them.
Is there anything I can do? Any help would be appriateted.
Thank you

Yeah. Pay the billEat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

You signed a contract at the time you hired the car. What did that say about if the third party costs couldn't be recovered?
If you've not got a copy you need to get hold of it. I suspect you will find a clause in there covering this eventuality.
If you owe it and don't have the amount you need to agree a repayment plan with them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Thank you for your assistnce0

It's a common problem unfortunately, and well documented.0

You should only EVER accept a hire car from third party if you are 100% satisfied that the accident was not your fault...
I’m assuming you were found at fault or a 50/50 claim?
If so, then you will have no option but to pay. Did your solicitors make it clear that the accident was not your fault so you wouldn’t have to pay? Did you not have a hire car added on to your own insurance?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

you can still be made to pay even if you are NOT at fault at all. Courts expect you to mitigate your costs !!! much as possible0
