Bulb meter - incorrect gas and elec
I had a smart meter installed and checked my bills - there had been an issue reading the meter so I got a huge bill in November for the previous 3 x months. When I contacted bulb it was a known issue for the gas i.e no reading was being taken and they quickly offered compensation. However, more concerning was my electricity bill which was 3 times my 'normal' monthly amount (and this being over summer is still high). Has anyone else had this issue? I have the gadget from Bulb showing that our typical daily spend is about £1 so no where near the inflated bill which I have shared a piccie with them. Any advice would be welcomed.

Forget the portable device, always read the meter on the wall, always think in annual kWh from actual readings and forget DD amounts. You've probably not been paying your way because of estimated readings and are paying off arrears. Even with a smart meter, check your bills and make sure no readings are ever estimated.0

OK - so I used the bulb energy usage dashboard which clearly showed the correct usage - the problem was that Bulb has entered the night and day readings the wrong way around which was used for my bill (which a lady from Bulb spotted within minutes of me explaining the difference between the energy dashboard and the billed amount). So I am now in credit again for my account. I'm not sure how long it would've taken Bulb to reach this conclusion as they initially assumed it was a tech fault with the meter which is wasnt (other than the gas meter wasn't working properly - groan). Sorted now and thank you for your replies.0
