If they went into a paid apprenticeship then the OP would no longer be able to claim child benefit and therefore maintenance would stop (unless this has changed in the last 18mths or so)
Op look at gov.uk at the child benefit pages and that will answer, basically as long as you are in receipt of that you are entitled to maintenance payments.
Yes as long as it's a foundation apprenticeship the payments remain (child benefit and CMS).
I'm not sure when it changed but I never got child benefit but did always get Maintenance, didn't know the two were linked to be honest. Our household income didn't allow us to have child benefit, but we still received CMS payment from my Daughters Dad.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
